The value of life

One of the Buddha's disciple was curious to know about the value of life then he went to the Buddha and asked him“What’s the value of life?”
Buddha gave him one stone and said, “Go find out the value of this stone, but don’t sell it.”

The disciple took that stone and asked an Orange Seller what's that stone cost would be.

The Orange Seller said he could give him 12 oranges in the return of that tiny stone.

He found a vegetable seller and asked him how much could be the value of that stone. The vegetable seller saw the shiny stone and said, “I can give you one sack of potatoes if you give me that stone.”

He apologized to that seller as he was not able to sell that.

Furthermore, he went into a jewelry shop and asked the value of the stone.
The jeweler said, “I’ll give you 50 Lakhs for this stone.” When the man shook his head, the jeweler said, “Alright, alright, take 2 crores, but give me the stone.”

He again apologized and said he couldn't sell the stone.

Furthermore, the disciple showed that to the stone’s shop and asked the value how much that could be.

When the stone’s seller saw stone he discovered that was a precious ruby., he lay down a red cloth and put the ruby and bent down and touched his head in front of that stone and wanted to know from where he got that one.
The disciple just said he wanted to know the value then he replied; "Even if I sell the whole world, I am not able to purchase this stone".

He became confused after all of the answers from different people and returned to the Buddha

Buddha said, “The answers you got from the Orange Seller, the Vegetable Seller, the Jeweler & the Stone’s Seller explain the value of our life… You may be a precious stone as the seller said, but people may value you based on their financial status, their level of information, their belief in you, their motive behind entertaining you, their ambition,  their risk-taking ability, and level of education they have. But don’t fear, you will surely find someone one day who will unveil your true value.”

Believe yourself, you are the unique and precious creature of this world. Your value will be stunned one day.
