The Bond of Togetherness
Human beings are inherently social creatures who thrive in
the presence of family, friends, and community. The bond of love and
togetherness symbolizes joy, hope, and strength. When people come together,
they feel more empowered, happier, and safer. As a saying, a single stick
is easy to break, but a bundle bound together is far stronger and resilient.
This reflects the essence of unity and togetherness, when we stand together, we
become unbreakable.
It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as the
President of the Federation of Indigenous Women of Nepal in America (FIWNA). In
this role, I have found not only colleagues and collaborators, but also a
family, a circle of peoples bonded by love, respect, and shared purpose.
Recently, we have started celebrating the 65th birthdays of
our members as they reach that milestone age. On the occasion of the special get
together and meeting of FIWNA, today we also celebrated a cherished tradition of our
organization: honoring members who turn 65. This time, we had the joy of
celebrating our member and newly nominated Vice President, Maiya Tamang, on her
65th birthday. The event was filled with laughter, happiness, and a beautiful
reminder of the love and togetherness that define our organization and its culture.
There is much to be done for migrant women, especially Indigenous Women of
Nepal in America. However, even the smallest step can lead us toward a brighter
future. We firmly believe that by growing and supporting one another, we will
move forward; steadily and surely until we achieve lasting success together.
